WHY RISE IN INDIA IS UNIQUE

  • We have never turned a child away, no matter how far behind their learning is or how challenging it is to get them to classes.
  • We link our India students to partner students in the UK to teach them more about the world and allow them to build friendships across the globe.
  • All children enrolled on the RISE Yearn to Learn programme receive family support, home visits, parental advice regarding socio-economic issues as well as student trips to exciting and otherwise out of reach places.
  • We support our students indefinitely; there is no end date to the RISE programme.
  • RISE visits every student on their birthday to wish them a happy day with a present… a book of course!
  • We have a very strong reputation in the communities within which we work, giving us credibility and allowing us to leverage support from local leaders.
  • We work with key figures in Krishnagar who provide free venues for us to hold classes. We work with schools and seek support from the government. We ensure we have strong foundations and connections.
  • All our staff are local and have a deep understanding of life in rural India, resulting in great respect for our staff and programmes amongst the communities.
  • We see our work as a valued contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, addressing goal 4: ’ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning for all’

AIMS
